The resurgent Polish economy has significantly improved the outlook of the Polish real estate market. Rising wages and growing consumer confidence has beneficially impacted spending levels and opened up new opportunities for retail.
Chelm, a former provincial capital in the east of the country, does not yet have a shopping centre. This will all change in 2019, when Galeria Chelm is scheduled to open.
This new modern shopping centre, with 47 shops spread over 17,200 m2 of space and 500 parking spaces, is set to become the number one shopping destination to the approximately 300,000 residents within a 45-minute driving distance. This includes the residents of Ukraine and Belarus nearby.
With 91% of the retail spaces already leased, and construction scheduled to finish by the second half of 2019, the Grand Opening is much anticipated.
