On April 23, more than 50 people gathered in Court-Saint-Étienne to mark the laying of the foundation stone for the next phase of Court Village. The event brought together local authorities, Equilis teams, partners and future residents.
Beyond the symbolic moment, the event highlighted the strength of the partnership between the municipality and the developer. The presence of members of the municipal council and urban planning teams reflects the close collaboration that has enabled the project to move forward in a consistent and ambitious way.
Mayor Steve De Wever welcomed the future residents and reflected on the transformation of the site over the past fifteen years. Once an abandoned industrial brownfield, the area has been progressively redeveloped into a new district that contributes to reshaping the municipality. The project was initiated under former Mayor Michael Goblet d’Alviella, also present at the event, illustrating the long-term vision behind this development.
Developed by Equilis, Court Village is the result of the regeneration of the former Henricot 2 industrial site. Launched in 2014, the first phase has already delivered a mix of housing, retail and green spaces, designed as a vibrant place to live. This new phase continues that approach, with a focus on human scale, accessibility and quality of life.
Guillaume Beuscart, CEO of Equilis, reaffirmed the company’s vision as it celebrates its 20th anniversary: going beyond housing to create places that foster interaction and everyday life. The project reflects Equilis’ commitment to developing sustainable, accessible and meaningful neighbourhoods.
The project is already gaining traction, with 30% of the units sold. First residents are expected by spring 2028. Further phases will gradually complete the development, reinforcing Court Village’s role in the long-term transformation of Court-Saint-Étienne.
