BELLEFLEUR COUILLET, BELGIUM

«The name Bellefleur represents renewal, just as it must have felt when the miners returned to the surface and took in their first breath of fresh air after hours of work at the bottom of the pit.».

26 000 m² of retail space

A retail park steeped in history

Already a highly regarded commercial centre, Bellefleur was expanded from 11 000 m2 to 26 000 m2. Much attention was paid to creating cohesion and consistency amongst the different buildings to ensure the site remains visually attractive.

Bellefleur is a fitting name for a redeveloped retail park established near Couillet in the area of Charleroi, a region with a long and proud mining history.

It was named after the term miners used for the top of the tower they were working on, with the tower wheels providing inspiration for the new visual identity.

Residents of greater Charleroi are now able to find virtually every retailer they need in this easily accessible commercial domain: from big franchise supermarkets to clothing and toy stores, and everything in between.
