The competition concerns the development of 8.8 hectares located on the heights of Namur at a place called “Plateau de Bellevue,” with the goal of creating a neighborhood of the highest environmental and architectural quality. This ambitious project has garnered strong interest from developers and meets the expectations of the City of Namur, which seeks to create a new district that is environmentally friendly and promotes energy and food autonomy.
The winning project, titled “Le Grenier de Bellevue,” stands out for its innovative and sustainable vision. It proposes a new way of living that respects the environment, biodiversity, and autonomy. By focusing on active mobility, communal shared spaces, and collective food management, this project exemplifies urban resilience and social diversity.
Upon the announcement of the results, Frédéric Berleur, project developer at BPI, emphasized: “The City of Namur set ambitious sustainability goals for this competition, which, while adding complexity, represents a stimulating challenge for our teams.” François Wanet, project developer at Equilis, added: “Our project, Le Grenier de Bellevue, is a multifaceted response to current real estate challenges. Putting citizens and conviviality at the heart of our reflections, while achieving alignment between food production, water management, and green space planning, was essential to bringing Le Grenier de Bellevue to life.”
