Setting new environmental and urban integration standards

In Philippeville (Belgium), Equilis is developing Flip'park, a retail destination designed to serve the wider regional community while setting new environmental and urban integration standards for this type of program. Built at the city’s entrance, the project redefines the relationship between commercial activity, landscape and mobility — turning a traditional retail model into a coherent and landscaped urban space.

Key Highlights
  • Integration into the surrounding landscape through 4.5 hectares of preserved and newly planted green areas, including a wooded buffer and a remarkable tree.
  • BREEAM “Very Good” certification, following 100% of ecological recommendations and achieving the maximum 15/15 score on energy performance (ENE01).
  • Installation of 7,850 photovoltaic panels, use of EPD-certified materials, and ISO 14001 environmental management by the general contractor.
  • Biodiversity features such as hedgerows, ponds, dry-stone walls, and flowering meadows supporting ecological continuity.
  • HPD internal Label: Very Good – highlighting Equilis’ focus on Energy performance, Sustainable mobility, and Biodiversity integration throughout the project.
  • A demonstration of Equilis’ ability to transform peripheral retail typologies into cohesive, environmentally responsible and well-integrated urban gateways.
