Rejuvenated industrial site in Brussels

Docks Bruxsel has turned an empty industrial wasteland into a modern, convivial and sustainable place that is welcoming to everyone.

This cool urban shopping centre in the heart of Brussels offers shops, restaurants, cultural activities, a cinema, an innovative 3,000m² event center, panoramic terraces and much more. And better still, it’s all been done in an environmentally friendly way as it uses natural resources from the neighbourhood.

Rainwater is filtered via a green roof and reused, heat comes from a nearby incinerator and 4 500m² of solar panels generate electricity earning it a BREEAM certification: (grade: Excellent).

The complex is a breath of fresh air in a neglected part of Brussels: an oasis that brings people from different areas and different backgrounds together.

Docks Bruxsel received an ICSC Award in 2018 (Category: New development/large) and the ICSC’s VIVA Award 2019, rewarding the best shopping center development in the world.
